WONDERING WHAT TO BRING?

Account Creation:

You’ll need a computer or phone to create either a FSA ID or WASFA account in addition to the following.

FSA ID:

  • Social Security Number

  • Your own email address

    • Please do not use your high school email address as you will not have access after you graduate. 

  • Personal information including your name as listed on your Social Security Card (if applicable), birthdate, and address.

  • Eligible non-citizens: Students and parents in this group will be able to create their FSA IDs on or after December 31st.

    • If you are an eligible non-citizen you can apply for the FAFSA. “You are considered an “eligible noncitizen” if you fall into certain categories, such as the ones listed below: 1. You are a U.S. national (includes natives of American Samoa or Swains Island) or 2. You have an Arrival-Departure Record (I-94) from U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) showing* “Refugee,” 3. You hold a T nonimmigrant status ("T-visa") (for victims of human trafficking) or your parent holds a T-1 nonimmigrant status.” Eligibility for Non-U.S. Citizens | Federal Student Aid.

WASFA ACCOUNT:

  • Your own email address

  • Please do not use your high school email address as you will not have access after you graduate. 

  • Personal Information including your name, birthdate, and address.

Account Completion:

You’ll need a computer and phone to complete your FAFSA or WASFA applications in addition to the following. This year's application won't be open till December 31st, but in the meantime, you can gather documents that you'll need once it opens.
